How to Choose a Good Leader

A leader is a person assigned to rule an organization or a group wisely. He or she is the one who managed the group or the organization in order to give and achieve a better performance or presentation. He or she is the one who trains all his members in order to obtain or perform a good, better than the other presentations and the best of all the presentations. In short, the leader is the head master.

Being the head master or the leader is a great opportunity because you would apply the skills you have learned. You would make a person to have a better performance or a better presentation. As a head master or a leader, you need to fight or overcome the hardships, trials, problems or obstacles in order to achieve a better performance. As a head master or leader, you need to train all you members in order to do the good, to do the better and to do the best.

As part of your life as a student, you also have to be a leader or a head master. During my elementary years, I have also experienced the life of being a leader. I was voted to be a leader. Well, t first, I thought that it would be a great opportunity to show my talents and skills in handling the group. If I could show my talents and skill, I would be able to share it to everybody. As days passed by, all of my classmates voted me to be the leader well, I could not resist because as I what I have said, it is a great opportunity to become a leader. Well, I have already realized that being a leader is very hard especially if you deal with people that are too awkward and too clumsy. Later on, I hate being a leader. I do not want to deal with a very awkward and clumsy classmates or members. When I insisted in being a leader, some of my classmates did not believe to me anymore. They are already used to my rule. Well, some of my classmates have not used to my rule and they still voted me to become the leader of our group. As I go on being a group leader, I am always discouraged day by day on being a group leader.

On choosing a good leader, I can only suggest that a leader must first entertain his or her members than himself or herself. He or she must do his obligations and responsibilities. He or she must perform well for the betterment of the group. He or she must take his or her mistakes for his or her improvement. He or she must find a way to any problems. He or she must come to practices or meetings on time. He or she must never be late during practices or meetings because he or she is the leader and that is his or her responsibility.

This coming election, we must choose the leader that much the characteristics above.

Because of a Bubble Gum

If I were to ask you, can a bubble gum ruin a strong relationship? Well, perhaps you would answer NO, because a bubble gum is just a bubble gum and it is just a small thing which sticks everywhere and it can only be chewed. But for the students of One-Bartlett, they would say YES, a bubble gum can ruin a strong relationship. You might be wondering why because for you it is just a small thing that sticks everywhere. Well it is just a small thing that sticks everywhere but for the students of One-Bartlett, it is a big thing and it is the reason why the strong relationship of Madame Gallo and the students of One-Bartlett has been ruin, Yes, the strong relationship of the students to their teacher has been ruin because of a single bubble gum. In this entry, I will tell you the reason why does the bubble gum ruined the relationship of a teacher to her students. I t may be unbelievable to you but it is true. I know that this news have already spread to the whole faculty members and you might be thinking that the students of One-Bartlett have no love and care for their teachers. Actually, we love her and we care for her. But let us go back to my question and answer it, can a bubble gum ruin a strong relationship? Why?
This incident or it may be an accident because we did not meant to do it, happened last Monday, during the nineteenth day of March of the year two thousand seven during the class of Science C. we were very happy because we ranked first at the Student's Council's Cleanliness Drive that we did not realize the bubble gum on the mono block chair. When Madame Gallo went inside our classroom, she was so happy and she congratulated us. Then, she sat on the mono block chair where a bubble gum was placed by a person who is still unknown up to now. She sat there and discussed to us our lessons. She did not know that there was a bubble gum on the chair. Well, of course, we also did not know about it. When she stand up to give us a better discussion, she felt like something sticked on her pants. Well, she knew and we also knew that it was a bubble gum. She was very angry and she gave us a Short Quid immediately. She ended the class and went outside. She said that our scores in the Periodical Test would be deducted by twenty points. We asked our classmates about the bubble gum but no one answered or told the truth. During the afternoon, she told us that she would give a Chapter Test even if we did not yet finished the chapter.
The next day, when she came to our class, we were very sad instead of being happy every time she comes to our class. She said that if we would not say sorry which comes from our hearts, she will deduct our scores from the Periodical Test with fifty points. That afternoon, we tried our best to say sorry to our dearest and favorite teacher.
Now, do you believe that a single bubble gum can ruin a strong relationship?

My Family Day Experiences

The Family Day celebration of the University of the Philippines High School in Cebu was on the twenty-fifth day of February in the year two-thousand seven. This celebration is celebrated in order to unite every family of every student in the university. During that day, the teachers, the parents and the family and the students were very busy. They were busy in preparing the chairs, preparing the food and decorating the table. As what I have observed, the teachers or the faculty members and the students were very busy in entertaining their guests, family members, friends and other relatives.
During that day, I was so happy and I have lots of experiences. I did have a great and a good time together with my family.
When I arrived at the campus, I have seen that the first year students were already preparing for the dance. When I arrived at the campus, the mass was already done. I was afraid and I was thinking that the dance was already done. When I went inside our classroom, the girls and boys were wearing their costumes already. I got my costume and wore it. After all, the first year students were called by the emcee, Mr. Elmer Montejo to perform their presentation, the “Lapay Bantigue”. The “Lapay Bantigue” is a folk dance that came from Masbate. The next to perform is the “Japanese Dance” that obviously came from Japan. It was followed by the “Rock and Roll” which came from the Asian Countries. The last to present was the “Tarantella” which comes from Italy. The “Lapay Bantigue” was presented by the first year students and the second year boys, the “Japanese Dance” was performed by the girls from the second year students. The next to present was the “Rock and Roll” by the third year students and the “Tarantella” by the fourth year students.
After the presentations, there was a game for the soccer tournament by the Team A of first year and second year students. Well, as usual, the first year students won over the second year students. After the game, all students were called for the lunch. I enjoyed a lot in eating different kinds of food. After the lunch, there were games for the parents. We were so happy because somehow, some of our parents enjoyed. After the game, the raffle draw began. I was so excited. I was shivering. I was always wishing to win. I waited for an hour but unluckily, i did not won. I thought that I am already going to win because my name was called but unfortunately we have different family name. Well, I might be unlucky this time but we do not know someday.
After the raffle draw, we went back to our respective tents. We were very happy and very glad because somehow, we made our family members and other relatives happy. After the raffle draw, the principal told everybody to clean their tents. In cleaning our tent, everybody cooperated. After we clean, I went home.
When I went home, I am very happy because I have different experiences.

Modern Technology

As we all know, science is a body of systematized knowledge. It is the application of knowledge on every thing we want to change. If we put science on the invention of some things, we would create a thing called “technology”. Technology is the application of science, in short, it is an applied science. It is a new product which results from man’s activities. Because of technology, many lives were improved.
Being in the modern technology is very enjoyable, interesting and amazing because you will experience different discoveries and later on, you will learn more about it. As of today, many people keep on discovering some new inventions and use them for the improvement of their lives and for their daily use for their works in order to be comfortable and convenient.
Some of the different modern equipments that are very useful today are Computers, Television, Rice Cooker, Cell Phones, Washing Machine, Refrigerator and many others. However, if they are very useful in our daily tasks and accomplishments, they are waste in electricity and make our payment in electricity bigger. They also contribute to “Global Warming”.
The computer is very useful today because it helps us in getting data without too much effort. A computer is modern equipment that is controlled by electricity. There are also other parts of computer, the mouse, the keyboard and the CPU. Other computers have also printers which are used to print the things we have gathered. However, even if a computer is very useful, some people do not have it because it costs a high price and makes our payment in electricity bigger.
The television is very useful today because it helps us in gathering news and information and sees it clearly and totally with the help of some characters that may appear in the television. Television is a modern device which has a full screen where the characters appear. It is also controlled by electricity. If the computer is been controlled by the mouse, the television is been controlled by the remote. Many people have it because it is affordable.
The Rice Cooker is very useful today because it is used as a substitute for coal and wood. It is a modern device which cooks rice easily. It is used by some people for cooking rice without too much effort. The Washing Machine is very useful today because it is the place where our foods are kept for preservation. It is controlled by electricity. It is a modern device which is used for storing or keeping food. Some people do not have it because it costs a high price.
The cell phone is very useful today because it helps us in communicating with others. It is a device which helps us in transferring or receiving message with or from each other. Many people have it because it is affordable and convenient to use. Because of this device, we can easily communicate with others. Almost all people are using cell phones in communicating with others.
Until now many are still continuing to discover some new inventions for the improvement of their lives and to live comfortably.

Entering my High School Life

Being a high school student is very much interesting and enjoyable. Since I was still in my elementary years, I have always wished and hoped to become a high school student. I am too excited and eager to graduate in order to become a part of the high school family. That is why I did my best and focused only on my studies. I have no time to play. Instead of playing, I spent most of my time reading my books. When I arrive at our school, if there is still a time, I get my books and read them. When I arrive at our house, I do not play. My playmates were wondering why I would not go outside. I just told them that I am studying hard because I want to graduate and become a high school student.

When I was in Grade Six, I did better. I worked harder. I did all my assignments everyday. I did all my projects and pass them on time. I went home early and study at home. I studied hard during the Chapter Test. I cooperated in every group works. I always scan my books and study.

When I heard about the University of the Philippines High School in Cebu's accepting of freshmen student, I told my mother that I want to apply. She allowed me. I was so happy because at last, I would be a high school student soon. I did my best to compile all the requirements. Finally, the test came. After few weeks, the qualified students was announced. I was rank seven.

The week of graduation came, I was so excited because I would already graduate. My excitement was added when our teacher told us the honor students. I was so afraid that I may not belong to the list but i know that I would make it because I know I did my best. Our teacher told us that I am the First Honorable Mention or the Third Honor. I was so happy because my dreams have came true.

During the vacation, I was so busy in preparing myself for my high school years. I studied hard. A week before the start of classes, my mother and I went shopping to buy school supplies for me and my elder sister. During the day before the start of classes, I prepared my school supplies and so is my sister. During the first day of class, I was so ashamed and so shy to my classmates because I do not know them yet. I want to be friend with them. My first friend in our section is Patrice and my three other classmates that qualify in the university from our school. I did all my best to be friend with them. As I go on and as my days in the university passed by, I have already known my classmates and I had already known how to interact with them. As months passed by, I have already lots of friends from other year levels. I started to develop friends and until now, I still tried to explore friends.

A Love Affair with MV Doulos

As we all know, the MV Doulos was built in the year nineteen fourteen. It is only two years younger than the boat Titanic. The MV Doulos is presently the largest floating book fair in the world. It is carrying more than six thousand book titles across the oceans to reach the different parts of the globe. As we all know, three hundred fifty volunteers from fifty countries in this world live and work together on board. The boat MV Doulos seeks to bring knowledge, help and hope to the nations. Since nineteen seventy seven, the boat MV Doulos has visited more than one hundred countries. The boat welcomes over nineteen million visitors on board.
The boat MV Doulos is carrying a stock of half a million books for sale. The visit of the boat MV Doulos was in Cebu, at the Pier one, Gate Entrance from January twenty six to February nineteen. During the visit of the first year and the second year students from the University of the Philippines High School in Cebu at the boat MV Doulos, I was so glad and I enjoyed a lot. There were different kinds of books covering some subjects such as Science, Education, Sports, Cookery, History, Technology, Photography, Christian Living and a wide range of Literature books for children. There were also reference books such as Dictionary, Atlas and Encyclopedia. I enjoyed reading the books from the literature of children. I was amazed because of all the books, I want to read fairy tale books and I found it there. I enjoyed very much as I read every book. In fact, I leave my partner just because I want to read those books. I became interested and amazed in reading those books but unfortunately, we were called by our teachers. I thought at first that we are going to go home already but luckily, we went to the Conference Room and we were gathered there and I was hoping that we would go back to the Book Fair. The emcee of the program was Felipe. He was a citizen from Brazil. Of course, we were not alone because we are together with the students from the Asian Learning Center. I thought that there were four schools including our Alma Mater, because their shirts have different colors but I was wrong because they are only from the same school. Felipe introduced to us the different volunteers form the different countries. The first one who introduced herself was from Germany, followed by the volunteer from China, then from Africa and lastly the volunteer from Japan. We was amazed because there were games. After the program, we went back at the Book Fair. I was so happy because I had the chance to read my favorite books, the fairy tale books. We did not stay long at the Book Fair because our teachers ordered us to go down the ship to go home. I felt sad at that time but somehow, I felt happy because I have an experience, a very memorable, enjoyable and interesting experience at the boat MV Doulos.

Adolescence

As young boys and girls grow into adulthood, they pass through a period called adolescence. It is the period between the ages of twelve and nineteen in the average child. As adolescents, they want to be identified with a peer group and seek independence from their family.
During adolescence, there are many changes in the body structure of young boys and girls. The voice of a boy changes to a deeper masculine tone because of the development of the vocal cords and throat muscles. Hair begins to grow also on the face and other parts of the body. A girl's legs, on the other hand, develop more curve, the hips widen and the bust become firmer. Maturity usually starts about two years earlier in girls than boys.
As boys and girls develop physically, they also develop mentally, emotionally and socially.
Because of the many rapid changes at this stage in their life, adolescents face various developmental tasks. These tasks include moving towards heterosexuality, choosing a vocation and seeking independence from their family. As they move towards heterosexuality, they become aware of the opposite sex. They want to be identified with a peer group which is their source of status and prestige and follow specific norms and standards set by the group. In choosing a vocation, they must know their abilities and real interests. They must know the different aspects of the job of their interest. They must gain experience through apprenticeships in work firms or institutions. They must shift to another vocation if it does not suit them and they should ask the Almighty for help and guidance.
In early adolescence, young boys and girls begin to feel the need for independence and privacy. This is the reason why some teenagers spend more time with their “barkadas”. It is in this peer group where they begin to develop self-esteem, a feeling of self-importance.
Young ones need much understanding from parents to overcome their anxieties. During this stage, responsible parenthood requires parents to gradually let go of their parental authority and learn to be their child's best friend.
As you grow up physically, you also gradually increase your mental and emotional stature. During your childhood days, your interest is only to yourself, your own possessions, your family and the people you meet daily. As an adolescent, your interests shift to many things outside yourself and your immediate surroundings.
Your emotional growth goes hand in hand with your mental growth. To understand why yourself and others of your age behave as you do, you must understand some of the behavioral traits of adolescents. It would be worthwhile to analyze all these traits and try to deal with ti positively since they are all part of the changes in an adolescent's life. As part of the behavioral traits of adolescents, they are sensitive and get easily upset. They want to prove their independence. They tend to be irritable and restless. They appreciate their parent's help. They are inquisitive. They become interested with the opposite sex and start to develop crushes. They are mostly ambitious and idealistic.

Pollution

One problem on our environment nowadays is pollution. Many people get sick because of pollution. Actually, the people are the main reason why many people get sick. The people are the one who face their death at an early age. They keep on throwing their garbage and wastes improperly. They do not know what are the negative effects of pollution on human health. How can we control pollution in the environment?
Pollution is the abuse of the environment. It may be an air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution or land pollution. Some people the environment so that it becomes unclean, unhealthy or useless.
Air pollution is the change in the physical or in the chemical characteristics of air. This is due to the different pollutants presenting the air. This is also due to the people like motorists who release carbon monoxide in the environment or surrounding. Another reason is the factory that releases polluted air in the environment. As a result, many people have cough and headache. In order to get rid of this problem, the motorists and other factories should minimize the release of dangerous and polluted air.
Another kind of pollution is land pollution. Land pollution is the change in the physical or chemical characteristics of land. This is due to the people who cultivate the land improperly. This is also due to the illegal cutting of trees or deforestation. Another reason is the mixture of different kinds of soil that makes the land unfertile. Because of illegal cutting of trees without replacing it or deforestation, many floods will occur in the city or plains because there are no more trees that can hold the water in going to the plains. As a result of the mixture of the soil that makes the land unfertile, only a small amount of plants will grow and only few plants can release oxygen for the people to inhale. In order to get rid of land pollution, the people should stop the illegal cutting of trees and if they would cut trees, they should replace it with a new one in order to minimize the occurring of floods. They should also cultivate the soil properly.
Another kind of pollution is water pollution. Water pollution is the change in the physical or chemical characteristics of water. This is due to the improper throwing of garbage and wastes in the rivers, streams, lake and other bodies of water. This is also due to the improper throwing of toxic chemical wastes of the factories near bodies of water. As a result, many people will experience dengue and diarrhea. The environment will also smell bad. Because of this, many fishes will die and the beauty of nature will be destructed. In order to get rid of this problem, the people should stop throwing their garbage and wastes in the different kinds of bodies of water. The factories should also stop throwing toxic chemical wastes in the different bodies of water.
In order to get rid of the different kinds of pollution and to add the beauty of nature, the people should keep their environment clean and wholesome.
