I am a Filipino because the color of my skin is brown, my eyes and my nose are not too big and not too small. I am a Filipino because my mother and my father are both Filipinos. I am a Filipino because I was born in the Philippines.
I am proud to be a Filipino because the Filipinos have some good characteristics like hospitality, politeness and bravery. I can say that the Filipinos are hospitable because all the Filipinos accepted the tourists that gone here to the Philippines. When the tourists come here in our country, the Filipinos tour them to all the places here in the Philippines because the Filipinos are very proud of the different wonders of our country. I can say that the Filipinos are polite because whenever they meet each other during morning, they say "Good Morning", during afternoon, they say "Good Afternoon" while during evening, they say "Good Evening" even if they do not know the people they meet. They greet each other because greeting other people shows respect to our fellow Filipinos and it shows that all of us are on the same boat. I can say that the Filipinos are artistic because many Filipinos are known almost all over the world because of their skills in Arts. Some examples of the Filipinos who are known all over the world because of their skills in Arts are Antonio Luna, Felix Resureccion-Hidalgo, Fernando Amorsolo and many others. Until today, many people are still artistic. In fact I have a classmate who is very good in Arts. He is Fidel. I can say that the Filipinos are brave because our ancestors fought for the freedom and independence of our country. They were not afraid. Until now, I still believe that many Filipinos are brave and courageous enough to defend our country. They are ready to serve our country.
The Filipinos also spend their holidays happily. They spend their holidays with their family and relatives. During Christmas season, some people from other provinces go to their families and relatives in the city while other people from the city go to their families and relatives in their own provinces. The Christmas of the Filipinos is worth remembering because in this holiday, all of their relatives are gathered. It is not only during Christmas that the relatives of the Filipinos are gathered but also during birthdays, fiestas and other occasions. I am also proud to my fellow Filipinos because they are known for their talent in singing. Some examples of the well-known singers are Lea Salonga, Regine Velasquez and many others.
I know, I should be proud of our country, the Philippines because even though our country is only small, but we could shout it to the whole world, because of our well-known Filipinos. Now I have already known the reasons why our ancestors have defended our country from the colonizers. It is because they already know that when all the Filipinos are united, we can make a better country without the help of other people.
